ALSCIAUKAT Maine Coons
Introduction
Our cattery is devoted to Scirocco, our first Maine Coon.
Alsciaukat is the name of a star in the Lynx constellation. Yes, we have our head in the skies, but our feet well on the ground! Our cattery belongs to an international group of breeders who believe that their role is not only to produce good looking cats, but also to improve the genetic background of our Maine Coons by carefully testing for genetic diseases and studying their pedigrees over many generations to avoid inbreeding . We also believe that it is important to diversify the Maine Coon genetic pool by introducing into our pedigrees some new foundation lines from Maine/North East America. We try to breed physically and mentally well balanced and harmonious cats. We are doing our best to provide you with a healthy, beautiful and loving companion. Our breeding cats are part of our family : they live in our house and can access a secure outdoor run. Our 3 children help us to raise very sociable kittens. Our breeding cats are tested for HCM and PKD, and sometimes HD. Their test results appear in Pawpeds. (see Health page).

On some pictures, our cats appear in an external environment. They don't roam free, but we have a large secured outdoor enclosure which they enjoy very much.

We have done a wonderful trip to North East America to visit breeders and bring back Attilla and Sunrise. Here is its Tale. Attilla and Sunrise have made a huge contribution to our breeding philosophy.
